When you read one of Raina Telgemeir's graphic novels, although you are reading her story-getting a small autobiographical glimpse into her childhood-there are so many delightfully and nostalgic moments that truly make her experiences your own and her books an absolute pleasure to read. Her newest graphic novel Sisters is no exception. Being an older sister myself, when I was reading Raina's tale about her baby sister being born and not being nearly as fun as she had imagined, I thought "Man, I remember thinking that, too!" When I got to the parts about Raina's long road trips and household quarrels with her pesky sister who appeared to have been brought into this world solely to ruin her teenage life, I couldn't help but remember all the times my own sister drove me up the wall. In face, although Sisters reminds us of the tough (but wistfully fun) times with siblings, the book is also a wonderful story of a normal family with normal family experiences making the best of everything that life throws at them.
