Halloween ComicFest is holding The Greatest Halloween Costume Contest Ever, where participants grab a button and upload their costume photos to win great prizes, including two random Grand Prize winners who will receive a $500 shopping spree at their local comic shop!

Article Image dbccLasting until November 15th, contestants can match themselves to one of the five costume categories— Superhero/Comics, TV/Movie, Gamer, Horror and Original — upload their photos at www.halloweencomicfest.com/costumecontest - and fans will vote on their favorite entries to pick the category winners. In addition to the random Grand Prize winners, two random prize winners will be chosen in each category to receive a $100 shopping spree. The adult and child who earn the most votes in their respective categories will receive a prize pack valued at over $250 which contains great prizes from contest sponsors, including DC Comics, Marvel Comics, BOOM! Studios, Archaia, Zenescope, Diamond Select Toys, Action Lab, Papercutz, Dark Horse Comics, Red 5 Comics, Image Comics, IDW Publishing, and Stride Rite.

To particpate you must first go to a participating comic shop and get an official Halloween ComicFest button, featuring Dark Horse’s Itty Bitty Hellboy.

From there, costumers will be automatically entered to win one of the random prizes, and grand prize winners are those who receive the most votes in their indiviual categories. Retailers can win as well by getting the most customers to participate in the contest. A retail winner will receive a $250 PREVIEWS backlist shopping credit.

“Comic shops are packed with great Halloween and horror related comics, graphic novels and other merchandise. Now, they’ll be packed with customers picking up the Itty Bitty Hellboy button and trying to win all that merchandise for free!” said Dan Manser, Diamond’s Director of Marketing. “Competition from cosplayers both young and old should make for some stiff competition, but anyone can win!”

The costume contest is just one part of the Halloween ComicFest celebration, which takes place at participating comic shops across the country on October 26th and 27.th. During that weekend twenty-two free Halloween-themed comics will be given away, while participating stores will also host individual parties, events and sales celebrating the Halloween season.
