Stan Sakai
Stan Sakai was born in Kyoto, Japan, and raised in Hawaii. He currently lives in Southern California. His creation, Usagi Yojimbo the samurai rabbit, was first published in 1984, and has now almost reached 200 issues and numerous collected editions. His latest trade collection, Usagi Yojimbo Volume 24: The Return of the Black Soul, was published in July, 2010. In addition to writing and drawing the ongoing exploits of the “rabbit ronin”, Stan also draws a regular feature in the official World of Warcraft magazine.
Stan is a recipient of multiple Eisner Awards, a Harvey, an Inkpot, as well as an American Library Association Award, four Spanish Haxturs, and the National Cartoonists Society Comic Book Division Award.
