Paul Pope, what fun titles are you reading?
The Adventures of Jodelle by Guy Peellaert—This book came out earlier this year, but it's my vote for best book of 2013. It’s a fantastic new edition of the classic Pop Art masterpiece which went on to influence a lot of late ’60s media. Peellaert was a bona fide multimedia artist who turned to comics, invented new coloring techniques, and created a surreal and sexy masterwork. The Adventures of Jodelle HC (NOV121175) |
Boxers & Saints by Gene Yang—My label-mate Gene Yang's latest book is actually a diptych — two books revolving around the history of the Boxer Rebellion and the mysterious role the mythical Chinese gods play during the battle. As with Battling Boy, this season he and I are both releasing books involving mythology and young heroes, both with :01 First Second Books. Boxers GN (JUL131151) |
RASL by Jeff Smith—My good friend Jeff Smith's latest project is a departure from his multi-million seller, Bone. Science Fiction, Tesla, and a lot of action. And of course, great story and art. The RASL hardcover is also out this season. The Complete RASL HC (JUL130970) |
