Staff Picks (February): 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank #1
Jan 20, 2016
Let me tell you something right off the bat, Matthew Rosenberg is a name to watch in 2016. He writes compelling stories with a knack for making the characters feel all too real. Rosenberg’s We Can Never Go Home stole the show in 2015, picking up nominations for a slew of awards along the way, and his next title, 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank, looks to continue that trend.
Without giving too much away, 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank focuses on Paige and her ragtag group of young friends who find themselves mixed up with some shady characters. Paige’s dad is hiding a secret, and the group does whatever it takes to keep him out of trouble. In a story that is a little bit of The Bank Job meets The Little Rascals, you’ll find yourself asking what lengths you would go to in order to keep your loved ones and friends safe.
The aptly named Tyler Boss, colorist for We Can Never Go Home, puts on a show with the art and design. Fans of David Aja’s work on Marvel’s Hawkeye will find solace in Boss’s pencils. Every single line and detail is perfectly placed, with impressive panel layout.
4 Kids Walk Into a Bank is a must-have for your pull list. Jump on board early so that you can be the first to tell your friends about it!
