Amongst the towering ominous metal oil derricks of modern-day Iraq gruesomely maimed bodies begin to turn up. These are not just your typical murders, though. These bodies are unnaturally mutilated and to Iraqi Special Investigator Aban Fasad show signs of a deep-rooted evil power. But this isn't your average oil derrick, either. Operated by the shadowy American company known simply as Verge, something else seems afoot. You get the feeling that this company may be hiding something, may have a track record for less-than-sincere, undisclosed operations. And this is what brings Chicago P.D. Detective Dana Atkinson and former U.S. Marine Sergeant Nelson Kendrick back together and back to Iraq to investigate this string of grotesque killings.
BOOM's newest series, Burning Fields, is the essence of crime scene investigation with a supernatural twist. It's X-Files meets Se7en, and for any fan of the crime procedural, supernatural conspiracy theory, or serial killer investigation this will undoubtedly be a comic for you! Writers Michael Moreci and Tim Daniel and artist Colin Lorimer (Curse) do a fantastic job of rooting the supernatural elements in events taking place today and with that Burning Fields promises to bring smart, eerie, (and slightly grisly) entertainment!
