Staff Picks (Feb14): Dead Letters
Jan 22, 2014
Publisher: BOOM! Studios
Sam has no idea where he is or how wound up wearing scrubs in a sketchy motel. He can’t seem to remember anything about himself, and doesn’t even recognize his own face. But he finds that he knows the important things, like how to hold a gun, and when to start running. And he remembers what the bad guys look like because he can’t help but feel he’s a bad guy, too. Dead Letters has all the action and dissociative amnesia of The Bourne Identity, set in a phantasmagoric world akin to What Dreams May Come.
Christopher Sebela is an excellent writer who has a great way of creating characters that get you invested almost immediately, and Chris Visions is quickly becoming one of my new favorite artists. Between the two of them, I’m really excited to see how this series will unfold!
