Mr. T. Rex is a washed-up, drugged-out, movie producer just looking for the next big hit. True to eccentric Hollywood fashion, he goes about doing this in the most outrageous, thoroughly-unhinged and slightly offensive manner conceivable. With Rick Spears’ clever writing, James Callahan’s crisp-lined and high energy artwork, and Luigi Anderson’s “powerfully saturated” coloring, the creative team behind The Auteur is unapologetic and completely unashamed to blow the Hollywood-meets-comic books genre to absolute pieces.
Beyond the shocking images and words, though, there is an astute and hilarious intelligence that lays the foundation for a fantastic new series unlike what is currently being put out today. While other comics are chasing the latest comic trends, The Auteur is taking a detour to give the reader a terrifyingly original and new comics experience.
