Series creators and husband and wife duo Phil and Kaja Foglio describe their Hugo Award-winning series by coining the term “gaslamp fantasy” which they consider to be a variation on steampunk but with an alternate history twist with heavy heaping dose of mad science.
Agatha Heterodyne, the last living member of the Heterodyne family, has been on the run. After escaping the flying Castle Wulfenbach and the clutches of Baron Klaus Wulfenbach. The Baron fears that her family heritage consisting of a line of powerful and often insane mad scientists could bring an end to his Empire.
