Wolf Moon Transcends Lycanthrope Legend

Article Image d754This is a project that Cullen Bunn has been slaving over for quite a while. He’s described it as “violent, action-packed, bloody, and scary-as-Hell.” So if you cringe at movies like Dog Soldiers, this might be something that has you running for an EKG test. The new book Wolf Moon (OCT140382) from DC/Vertigo is one that makes you connect with victims on an emotional level. So when the beast comes for them, you, too, are looking over your shoulder.

Bottom line, Cullen has decided to do something different with the legend of werewolves in a new six-issue mini-series. So right there some of you are thinking, sweet! October’s here, Halloween’s around the corner, what better time to read about lycanthropes who are now much better at catching and munching on victims? Right? But here’s the twist: the man who is trying to stop the werewolf may become as much of a monster as the beast he’s chasing. The thirst for revenge may turn our hero, Dillon, into an anti-hero that you don’t like at all.

Bunn has said in interviews that he’s a big fan of movies like American Werewolf in London and The Howling, so it’s safe to say that fluids will be flying left and right. But neither of those movies ended happily.

And that’s probably the case for Wolf Moon (OCT140382).

Look for it from DC Comics/Vertigo in the October PREVIEWS catalog!
