    • No joke—after teasing the look for several weeks, director David Ayer has finally revealed, via his official Twitter account, a glimpse at Jared Leto's Joker for the upcoming Suicide Squad film
  • Director Bryan Singer revealed a quick glimpse at a young Nightcrawler (played by Kodi Smit-McPhee) from the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse movie. Luckily, CBR was able to catch him before Singer BAMF!-ed the teaser away.
  • Quick, write this down: The Hollywood Reporter has announced, via an exclusive report, that director Adam Wingard has officially signed up for the Warner Bros. adaptation of Death Note. The hit manga series, written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, has previously been adapted into a number of different media including novels, video games, an animated series, a series of Japanese live-action films, and even a musical.
  • The 2015 Tony Award nominations are in, and Broadway.com is reporting that Fun Home has received 12 nominations, including Best Musical. The musical is based on Alison Bechdel's Eisner-winning memoir Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic and opened on Broadway on April 19, 2015 after a successful 2-year Off-Broadway run. Congratulations to all involved for bringing Fun Home to the stage!

  • After giving us a teaser at a young Nightcrawler for X-Men: Apocalypse earlier this week, Bryan Singer has also given us a closer look at Jubilee (played by ana Condor) and Jean Grey (played by Sophie Turner) via his official Instagram account.

  • The costume reveals keep coming as director Michael Bay took a turn to show off, via his official Twitter account, Stephen Amell's look as Casey Jones from the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel.

  • Following the earlier announcement of their investment deal with DMG Entertainment, Valiant Entertainment has revealed a five-feature deal with Sony Pictures to bring two of its comic titles to the big screen. The five-picture project will kick off in 2017 with an adaptation of Bloodshot with David Leitch and Chad Stahelski co-directing, Jeff Wadlow and Eric Heisserer providing a script, Neal H. Moritz, Toby Jaffe, and Dinesh Shamdasani producing, and Matthew Vaughn and Jason Kothari serving as exectutive producers. A Harbinger film will follow shortly thereafter with Eric Heisserer providing a script and Neal H. Moritz, Toby Jaffe, and Dinesh Shamdasani producing. Both films will receive sequels, and the fifth planned film, Harbinger Wars, will be based on the 2013 comic cross-over event of the same name and bring together characters from both films.   • Get ready to go binge or go home (or go home to binge). The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the Daredevil tv series will return for a second season in 2016. The new season will also see the arrival of two new showrunenrs: Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez.
  • Deadline Hollywood has reported that cult sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest has set a destination for the small screen as Paramount Television is currently developing and adaptation. Several members of the movie's original creative team will return for the tv production inclusing writer Robert Gordon, director Dean Parisot, and producer Mark Johnson.
  • Actor Mitch Pileggi has announced, via his official Twitter account, his return as Walter Skinner to the upcoming X-Files tv event.
  • Muppet fans are about to learn a whole lot more about their favorite frogs, pigs, bears, chickens, and... whatever Gonzo is's. Entertainment Weekly reports that the upcoming Muppet tv series revival will be a bit of a departure from its predecessor as it explores the lives of the Muppets beyond the stage. The new series will have a more "adult" tone and be filmed as a mockumentary à la The Office and Arrested Development.
  • Not content with just stacking blocks, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will soon be slinging webs as well. The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the two Lego movie directors are creating a new animated Spider-Man feature for the big screen. The two are currently set to write and produce the film which is slated for release July 20, 2018

  • The Deadpool  hype train continues to pick up steam with a new casting announcement that promises to fill the movie's teen angst/brooding quota by 200%. Ryan Reynolds unveiled a first look at the Negasonic teenage Warhead (played by Brianna Hildebrand) on his official Twitter account.
  • While entertainment news has been inundated with stories of comics being turned into tv properties, Titan Publishing is reversing the tide to bring our shelves more books. The Hollywood Reporter has announced, via an exclusive report, that NBC's The Blacklist is being adapted to the printed page by writer Nichole Phillips and artist Beni Lobel as well as members of series' creative team at Sony Pictures Television.
  • Did you binge-watch all of Daredevil and now find yourself with dark cloud hanging over your Marvel Cinematic Universe-shaped heart? Well, don't worry—here's a glimpse of David Tennant as the Purple Man from the upcoming AKA Jessica Jones series to help hold you over until your next Netflix-induced time travel experience. UPDATE: ComicBookMovie.com has also posted several set photos that feature Tennant, Krysten Ritter (playing Jessica Jones), and Mike Colter (playing Luke Cage) in costume.
  • In a different corner of the MCU, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has revealed some new details on the new Spider-Man film currently crawling it's way to production. In an exclusive interview with Crave Online, Feige announced that new reboot will star a high school-aged Peter Parker, but will not delve into his origin story again. Feige also stated that a completely new costume is already in the works for the web-slinger—one that harkens back to the superhero's classic design.
  • Deadline Hollywood has announced, via an exclusive report, that Stephen King's Dark Tower series is being adapted for both the big and small screen. Sony Pictures and MRC will co-finance the planned film series, with Sony also distributing the proposed franchise, while MRC will develop a companion television series.
  • The planned Captain Marvel movie may soon be taking flight as The Hollywood Reporter has noted that Marvel has set its sights on two potential writers. According to the entertainment news site, Nicole Perlman, co-writer of the Guardians of the Galaxy film, and Meg LeFauve, co-writer of the upcoming Pixar feature Inside Out, are currently in negotiations to serve as a super team for the movie. The Captain Marvel movie will be Marvel's first female-lead superhero feature and is currently slated for release on July 6, 2018.
  • Flash A-AH! Gordon may once again be bringing intergalactic derring-do to the big screen. The Hollywood Reporter has announced, via an exlcusive report, that Matthew Vaughn is currently in negotiations to direct a new film based on the iconic sci-fi hero.
  • Wonder Woman's invisible jet isn't staying grounded for long as The Hollywood Reporter announced, via an exclusive report, that Patty Jenkins will now direct the superheroine's solo adventure following the departure of Michelle MacLaren. The film stars Gal Godot (who will make her first appearance as the Amazon princess in the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice movie) and is currently slated for release in 2017.
  • Comic creator Robert Kirkman is continuing his reign of multimedia entertainment domination with the announcement of first-look film deal with Universal Pictures. According to an exclusive press release from The Hollywood Reporter, his comic imprint Skybound Entertainment has signed a two-year deal with the film production company which will allow Universal to option current and upcoming titles for film.
  • Entertainment Weekly has announced, via an exlcusive report, that Oscar-winning writer/producer John Ridley will help develop an undisclosed Marvel TV production. While details are currently few and far between, the new project involves reinventing an existant superhero/property for television.
  • Seth Rogen, exectuive producer of the Preacher tv adaptation, has confirmed, via his official Twitter account, that Dominic Cooper will play Jesse Custer in the upcoming series.

  • Jupiter's Legacy will live on in the moving pictures as The Hollywood Reporter has announced, in an exclusive report, that the title is currently being adapted for film. Co-created by writer Mark Millar and artist Frank Quitely, Millar is partnering with Lorenzo di Bonaventura to bring the multi-generational superhero story to the big screen. 
  • The Batman 1966 tv series is being turn into an upcoming a-na-na-na-na-na-naaa-imated feature. Slash Film reports that actors Adam West and Burt Ward (Batman and Boy Wonder respectively) recently broke the news that they would be voicing their cartoon counterparts at the Mad Monster Party convention. Fans have time to refill their Bat Shark-Repellant before the film's release in 2016.
  • Game Of Thrones actor Edward Skrein announced via his official Twitter account that he will be playing the villain Ajax in the upcoming Deadpool film.
  • And now that Deadpool has his villain, filming for the upcoming movie has gotten underway in earnest. The Daily Mail has posted a number of on-set photos of Ryan Reynolds in makeup and costume along with some sneak peeks at some of the stunt work being done.
  • Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund are back in the game for the upcoming Tron 3 film. The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the two actors will return for the planned sequel, which is set to begin filming later this year.

  • Empire Online has revealed a first look at The Thing (Jamie Bell) from the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. You'll be able to smell what this rock is cooking on August 7 (in the US), and be sure to also check out two more exclusive movie stills posted on the site. UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly has posted up another look at the Thing, and it's safe to say that it's clobberin' time.

  • Entertainment Weekly also unveiled a superhero look that has been long under wraps—a full-body shot of Vision from the upcoming Avengers: Age Of Ultron film. The entertainment news outlet revealed the character as a part of their interlocking magazine covers in honor of the movie's impending release. Be sure to check the site for a look at all of the separate covers and the final completed image.
  • Director David Ayer is keeping up his steady stream of Suicide Squad movie teasers on his official Twitter Account. This week we were given a look at the super-stuffed ensemble cast during their first table reading.
  • Marvel has released a new "motion poster" teaser for the upcomign Daredevil Netflix series that features the hero in his signature red crime-fighting gear. Get a look at Daredevil's digs above or avert your eyes to avoid spoilers until you binge-watch it this weekend.

  • Entertianment Weekly is doling out even more Marvel Cinematic Universe reveals this week with a first look at Yellowjacket (Corey Stoll) from the upcoming Ant-Man movie. That punch looks like it might sting a little.
  • SpoilerTV.com has reported that the planned Arrow/Flash spin-off series has been given the working title of The Atom but could change once production gets underway. 
  • It smells like team spirit. Entertianment Weekly has posted an exclusive report that Marvel is beginning work on an Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off series with ABC. While details on this planned series are currently sparse, this new project is being developed by Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski, who serve as executive producer and writer of the S.H.I.E.L.D. series respectively.
