Called the "Dean of American Illustrators" by Norman Rockwell, Dean Cornwell was one of the top illustrators in America during most of his life. His work appeared in national magazines as Redbook, The Saturday Evening Post, Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, and many more. As one of the country's foremost muralists, his work has endured for generations in many locations. As one of the direct descendents of Howard Pyle, his richly textured and powerful paintings reflected the interests, concerns, and dreams of Americans for over five decades.
