With sales for Rebirth titles going through the roof, DC Comics decided to take things to the next level sooner than later, and announced that Justice League vs. Suicide Squad hits comic shops this December.
A six-issue series that launches with two issues released in December — and four subsequent issues released in January 2017 — the heart of the crossover pits Batman and Superman’s team against a covert team of supervillains working for government operative Amanda Waller. The series is planned to tie into issues #9-10 of Suicide Squad and issues #12-13 of Justice League.
The new series' writer, Joshua Williamson, explained much of the story will include the character Killer Frost, a new addition to the Suicide Squad team. “We’re going to be doing a lot with her, and her point of view in the event,” he explained in an article in The Wall Street Journal.
Ramifications are said to spring from this six-issue event, with a new Justice League of America title being one of the aftershocks. That new book is slated to roll out February 2017.
