Mar 15, 2013
Publisher: St. Martin's Press
We all know the story of how two friends, writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, got together and created the super-hero and started a genre that remains to this day. We also know about their poor business decisions, how some in the industry helped them get the recognition they deserved for their creation, and how the family is still fighting for what is due.
Super Boys: The Amazing Adventures of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster- The Creators of Superman gives you so much more than just what’s been written previously by others. Author Brad Ricca has provided us with Jerry and Joe’s family backgrounds adding to why and how they became the people they became. The research done for this book is astounding and helped to make it a "can’t put down" read.
This is a must read if you ever plan to read anything about the history of the comic industry. An extremely well researched and written piece, maybe Mr. Ricca should be working for a great metropolitan newspaper or a blog.
